Student Satellite Symposium

There will be a satellite meeting on Sunday from 1.00pm to 5.15pm specifically for students to present oral presentations to an audience consisting mainly of other students and post docs. A few selections from these presentations will be asked to present to the main conference and all other student presentations will be presented as posters at the the main conference. All the costs of this satellite meeting will be covered in the scholarship awards (please see below for further information), but other delegates are encouraged to attend (Cost: $50 or $75). Please submit your abstract and note your intent to attend this satellite session when registering.

Scholarship Awards

If you are interested in applying for scholarship funds, please send an email request by July 1, 2009 to Darla Milller at millerdr@med.unc.edu
In the e-mail, please include your name, address, the name of your laboratory head, a copy of your abstract (which must also be submitted on-line at www.mammaliangenomeconference.com) and your position (student or post doc).
As in previous years, you must be an International Mammalian Genome Society member to receive financial aid. The membership rate for students and post docs with the journal, Mammalian Genome is US $49 per calendar and US $30 for students and post docs who do not wish to receive the journal. To become a member, you can apply at www.ornl.gov/imgs/application.shtml. You can apply for membership at the same time of aid application.

Main Conference Fees

The fee for registered participants includes:
• Attendance at the scientific sessions
• Attendance at the Welcome Reception and dinner on Sunday
• Lunches on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday
• Morning and Afternoon refreshment breaks

Accommodation

Preferential rates have been agreed with the Hilton. To benefit from these rates please contact the Hilton direct on (001) 1-800-4458667 and request the group rate for The International Mammalian Genome Society. Accommodation can also be booked on-line directly with the hotel in this link.

Rates quoted are per room per night. Hotel accommodation will be allocated on a strictly first come first served basis. All cancellations must be received in writing by the Hilton La Jolla and no refunds will be given after September 25, 2009. Should you want to extend your stay out-with the Conference dates please contact the Hilton La Jolla direct.

IMPORTANT: If you do not arrive at your hotel on the due date or reduce the number of nights you stay, the hotel may cancel your reservation and charge you for all nights booked.

Delegate Cancellation
- Between July 31 and October 1 the delegate fees will be refunded less $50 administration fee.
- After October 1, no registration refunds will be given.
- All cancellations must be received in writing.
- Delegates who fail to arrive at the conference will still be liable to pay the full amount.
